The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met on Monday at his office with a delegation representing Christian denominations in Sudan.
The President of the Karari Council of Churches, Pastor Angelo Al-Zaki Angelo, affirmed the Sudanese churches' full support for the Armed Forces in their battle to defeat the rebellion, emphasizing the critical need for concerted regional and international efforts to rebuild what the war has destroyed.
Pastor Angelo noted that the meeting addressed key issues concerning churches in the country, declaring the churches' categorical rejection of all acts of destruction and vandalism committed by the rebel, terrorist Dagalo militia. He added: “After the war, we seek peace, coexistence, tolerance, reconstruction, and unity.”
Furthermore, the Pastor expressed great hope for the victory of the Armed Forces, the defeat of the enemy, and the end of this “cursed war.” He praised the historical level of religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence that characterizes Sudanese society, while expressing satisfaction with the government resuming its duties from the capital, Khartoum, which has now become secure.
