UN Experts’ Report Says UAE Recruited Colombian Mercenaries to ‎Fight Alongside RSF in Sudan

Mercenaries

New York (Nabaa Sudan) – A confidential report by the United Nations ‎Panel of Experts on Sudan has concluded that the United Arab ‎Emirates (UAE) recruited Colombian mercenaries to fight alongside the ‎Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and transported them to Sudan ‎through Libya, Somalia and Chad.‎

According to the report, reviewed by Middle East Eye platform, the ‎mercenaries took part in military operations in Darfur, particularly the ‎siege and capture of El-Fasher. Their support included operating ‎drones and artillery systems, as well as providing infantry support.‎

Meanwhile, the UAE rejected accusations of wrongdoing in the war, ‎saying it takes claims concerning mercenaries seriously. However, its ‎Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not respond to the platform’s request ‎for comment.‎
