Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Ismat Gurashi held talks with Hongjie Yang, Resident Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), on ways to ensure the timely delivery of improved seeds and agricultural inputs to farmers, in preparation for the upcoming summer agricultural season.
The FAO Representative commended the Minister’s efforts in coordinating with the World Bank to secure joint financing with the organization amounting to $90 million. He also noted that these efforts have contributed to sustaining the seed grant provided by the Italian government in support of smallholder farmers.
