Sudanese Foreign Minister Discusses Bilateral Ties and German ‎Support for Reconstruction

Foreign Minister Meets German Charge Daffaires

Khartoum (Nabaa Sudan) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and ‎International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salem, discussed ‎ways to develop bilateral relations and strengthen cooperation in ‎various fields during a meeting with Germany’s Chargé d’Affaires ad ‎interim to Sudan, Philipp Wendel.‎

The discussions also addressed Sudan’s aspirations to benefit from ‎German support for reconstruction and efforts to address the damage ‎caused by the war.‎

Salem stated that the war is being fought between the Sudanese ‎Armed Forces and the Sudanese people on one side, and groups of ‎mercenaries and hired fighters within the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) ‎militia on the other, noting that the latter make up 70 percent of the ‎militia. He stressed that the Sudanese state does not negotiate with ‎mercenaries and hired fighters.‎

The meeting also explored prospects for expanding Sudanese-German ‎cooperation and Germany’s contribution to supporting reconstruction ‎projects and rehabilitating facilities destroyed by the war.‎
