Khartoum, Nabaa Sudan – Minister of Minerals Nur-El-Dayem Taha arrived in the People’s Republic of China on Wednesday at the head of a high-level delegation of senior officials from the minerals sector to participate in the Tianjin International Mining Conference.
The conference will be held from September 10 to 12, 2026. The minister’s participation comes at the invitation of China’s Minister of Natural Resources.
The conference brings together a number of ministers of minerals, officials, experts, and stakeholders in the global mining industry, as well as representatives of companies and institutions operating in the mineral resources sector.
The Minister of Minerals said Sudan’s participation in the conference is aimed at strengthening partnership and cooperation with China and exchanging expertise and experience in mining and exploration, as well as the optimal utilization of mineral resources. He said this would contribute to developing the sector, opening new investment opportunities, and achieving sustainable growth.
The minister underscored the importance of Sudan’s participation in specialized international forums to highlight the country’s mineral potential and resources and present available investment opportunities to companies and investors, thereby supporting government efforts to develop the mining sector and increase its contribution to the national economy.
