Sudan's Police Forces' General Directorate of Civil Defence has warned that temperatures are expected to rise sharply over the coming days, reaching between 47°C and 55°C, with cumulonimbus cloud formation likely to produce hot, humid, and oppressive conditions across much of the country.

The Civil Defence Directorate urged citizens to take precautionary measures, including removing flammable materials such as gas canisters, cigarette lighters, and pressurized aerosol cans from vehicles. It also advised against leaving perfumes and batteries inside parked cars, recommended keeping windows slightly open to allow ventilation, avoiding completely filling vehicle fuel tanks, and refraining from travelling during the hottest morning hours.

The authority further cautioned that higher temperatures could increase the activity of scorpions and snakes. It advised the public to drink plenty of water and other fluids, avoid direct exposure to the sun between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., and conserve electricity, particularly during peak demand periods.
