Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris reviewed the performance of the Ministry of Interior and its various directorates during the first half of the current year.
The briefing came during a meeting in Khartoum with Minister of Interior Lt. Gen. (Police) Babiker Samra Mustafa, who said in a press statement that he presented a report on the ministry’s performance from January to June, highlighting achievements in various police directorates, in addition to the criminal situation and the overall security environment.
The Interior Minister noted that he also briefed the Prime Minister on efforts to combat smuggling and narcotics, pointing out that the meeting reviewed the performance of the Customs Authority and its achievements, as well as administrative matters within the police in the National Capital, Khartoum.
He added that discussions also covered the performance of other police sectors, including prisons, wildlife, and civil defence, indicating that the Prime Minister pledged to provide the necessary requirements for the Civil Defence.
Lt. Gen. (Police) Babiker Samra affirmed that the security situation is under control, stressing that police plans are being implemented effectively and that coordination between Police Headquarters and state security committees is strong.
