Health Minister Meets UNICEF Representative

Health Minister

Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim met on Thursday in his office with UNICEF Representative in Sudan Sheldon Yett to review ongoing activities and efforts undertaken during the past period, in the presence of a number of ministry officials.

The Minister commended the organization’s continued support across various health and humanitarian sectors, calling for further interventions, particularly in insecure states. He stressed that the ministry bears responsibility for all citizens regardless of their location.
He also called for enhanced coordination in the areas of water and environmental sanitation, with resources directed toward identified national priorities.

For his part, UNICEF Representative Sheldon Yett reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to continuing support for the ministry and aligning with its efforts through joint implementation of priority projects and programmes related to vaccination and immunization, malaria control, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services.
