The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has reaffirmed its commitment to fully cover all financial entitlements due to Somali referee Omar Artan, who is part of the officiating team for the 2026 World Cup, despite a decision by U.S. authorities to deny him entry into the country.
FIFA stressed that all contractual payments and allowances owed to match officials will be honored in full, in line with its regulations, ensuring that administrative or travel restrictions do not affect the remuneration of appointed referees.
