Khartoum, (Nabaa Sudan) – Minister of Culture, Information, Tourism and Antiquities Khalid Al-Eisir stressed the importance of leveraging digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI) to develop and redesign the tourism sector in line with global developments.
He made the remarks during a workshop organized by the ministry in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Communications to mark World Tourism Day, which is being observed this year under the theme, “The Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence for Redesigning Tourism.”
Al-Eisir highlighted Sudan’s diverse tourism, cultural, and archaeological attractions, stressing that using modern technologies to promote them would help improve Sudan’s image globally and strengthen the role of tourism in the economy and development, particularly during the post-war period.
He explained that the ministry plans to organize workshops and training programs for tourism-sector workers to develop their capabilities and improve the level of services, stressing that plans to advance the sector will continue despite the exceptional circumstances facing the country.
