U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Sudan featured prominently in his recent discussions with Emirati officials, noting that the issue is consistently raised in his regional engagements.

Rubio said the United States is pressing all parties involved in the Sudan conflict and has seen renewed momentum following the understandings reached in Berlin. He stressed that the current priority is ensuring compliance with those agreements.

He added that U.S. Special Envoy Massad Boulos is engaged on the Sudan file on a daily basis and that Washington continues to raise the issue with all parties involved, including countries that maintain relations with actors on the ground.

Rubio reiterated that the United States wants to see a ceasefire accompanied by the opening of humanitarian corridors to facilitate aid delivery, ultimately leading to a lasting peace in Sudan.
