PORT SUDAN (Nabaa Sudan) – Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Malik Agar on Wednesday met in Port Sudan with China’s Chargé d’Affaires to Sudan, Mr. Xu Jian, on the sidelines of the Red Sea Forum on Security and Development (Port Sudan Forum on Security and Development 2026).
The meeting addressed the longstanding diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, the TSC Vice President focused on Chinese investment, which has been suspended due to the ongoing war, security conditions, previous policies and the debt issue.
Agar expressed Sudan’s aspiration for China to support the country in international forums in safeguarding its unity and preventing interference in its internal affairs. He also affirmed Sudan’s desire to encourage renewed investment in the country by both the Chinese government and the private sector.
