Political Adviser to the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Amjad Farid, said that the rate of cholera infections in Sudan has declined thanks to the efforts of the Sudanese government and technical support from the World Health Organization (WHO).

Farid made the remarks in response to Massad Boulos, U.S. President Donald Trump’s Senior Adviser for Africa and the Middle East, who attributed the decline in cholera cases in Sudan to U.S. support.

In a post on the X platform, Amjad Farid added that vaccination campaigns had reached 24.5 million people across Sudan, demonstrating the government’s commitment to combating the disease. The campaigns also extended to areas under the control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
