The Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS), Amina Mirghani Hassan Al-Tom, inaugurated the headquarters of the Financial Information Unit (FIU) in Khartoum, in a move reflecting the return of state institutions and the resumption of their activities in the capital.

The unit returned to Khartoum after continuing its operations from Atbara during the war, reaffirming its commitment to combating money laundering, terrorist financing and the financing of arms proliferation.

The CBOS Governor underscored the importance of the unit in safeguarding the financial system and strengthening national and international cooperation. She praised the staff’s efforts to restore the unit’s systems and servers, describing the reopening of its headquarters as an important milestone in the recovery of state institutions and the resumption of their activities in Khartoum.
