The Federal Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), launched a training workshop at the Saudi Hospital in Omdurman to prepare trainers on emergency pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care guidelines.
Federal Health Minister Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim said reducing maternal and child mortality remains a national priority, stressing the importance of strengthening the capacities of healthcare workers and improving emergency health services.
Officials said the training forms part of a comprehensive strategy to advance maternal and child health and reduce mortality and morbidity rates.
