Minister of Culture and Information Khalid Al Eisir Monday received a British delegation at his office, led by Mr. Michael Malinson, Mrs. Helen Malinson, and Dr. Kate Ashley, representing the primary partner in Sudan’s Living Heritage Protection Project. The meeting was also attended by the Ministry’s Undersecretary, Dr. Graham Abdel-Gadir.
The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in preserving Sudanese cultural heritage and explored future collaboration in restoring, rehabilitating, and maintaining museums. This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Tourism’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international partnerships and expand collaboration with global institutions dedicated to heritage protection, thereby safeguarding Sudan’s cultural legacy for future generations.
Mr. Michael Malinson, head of the delegation, noted that the meeting served as a follow-up to discussions held in February. Those discussions covered key projects, including the establishment of Peace Park in Kassala, the rehabilitation of Jebel Barkal Museum, and the maintenance of Taj Al Sir Mosque in Suakin. He reaffirmed the delegation’s commitment to advancing these initiatives in support of preserving Sudan’s cultural heritage.
