The Sudan Meteorological Authority said climate forecasts for the 2026 rainy season indicate a likelihood of higher drought rates in Ethiopia, South Sudan and Uganda, with the impact on Sudan expected to be comparatively less severe.
Speaking at the 56th briefing conference organized by the Ministry of Culture, Information, Tourism and Antiquities, the Authority announced the convening of the Third Climate Forum, bringing together relevant stakeholders to discuss measures and policies related to climate change.
The Authority also pointed to forecasts of below-average rainfall in some parts of the country, with the possibility of moderate drought conditions and temperatures exceeding normal levels across most regions of Sudan.
