Informed sources told the Nabaa Sudan platform that, following the advance of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) in the Blue Nile Region, the construction of three hangars for strategic drones was observed at Ethiopia’s Bahir Dar Airport.
According to the dimensions of the hangars, the sources suggested they are likely designated for Akinci drones operated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The sources indicated that construction of the first hangar was observed on May 25, 2026, the second on May 30, and the third on June 4, 2026.
They added that drone launches from Bahir Dar Airport toward the Blue Nile Region and several Sudanese cities had been monitored during recent months.
