Turkey and Saudi Arabia said in a joint statement that it is essential to prevent Sudan from turning into a theater for conflict and illegal activities, and to ensure that foreign weapons do not enter the country through illicit channels.
The two sides stressed the importance of protecting civilians, facilitating the delivery of humanitarian assistance, safeguarding state institutions, and launching a Sudanese-led political process aimed at forming a civilian government.
The Turkish side expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s efforts to achieve peace and preserve Sudan’s unity, while both parties welcomed the continued opening of the Adré border crossing with Chad and the reopening of airports.
