Sudan’s Attorney General: Infrastructure Destruction Has Caused Estimated Losses of $771 Billion

Sudan’s Attorney General and Chairperson of the National Committee for the Investigation of Violations of National Law and International Humanitarian Law, Intisar Ahmed Abdel-Aal, announced that preliminary estimates place the economic losses resulting from the destruction of infrastructure in Sudan at approximately US$771 billion.

Addressing the Human Rights Council, Intisar stressed that halting external support to the rebel militia is a key step toward ending the war, noting that such a measure would help curb the violations being committed against civilians.
