Al-Burhan Authorizes Halayib Security Agencies Three-Month Mandate to Restore Order, Warns Against Smuggling and Illegal Mining

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, affirmed the state’s determination to address all manifestations of security and economic disorder, directing the unification of administrative and security leadership in the area under the umbrella of Red Sea State to preserve stability and ensure the availability of essential commodities for citizens.

He made the remarks while addressing a gathering of residents in Al-Rataj area of Halayib locality, where he received strong support and interaction from community leaders and local residents.

Al-Burhan announced that security agencies and local authorities in Red Sea State had been granted full authority for three months to restore order and regulate commercial activities, issuing a stern warning to those undermining the state’s economy and evading the law.

He stressed the need to place markets under state supervision through the registration and regularization of all traders and workers, with local revenues and fees directed toward serving and developing the local community.

In the context of protecting national resources and the environment, the Commander-in-Chief expressed concern over the harmful consequences of unregulated mining activities and the use of hazardous chemicals in seasonal waterways and valleys. He urged residents to protect their lands and traditional holdings from unsustainable exploitation in order to safeguard the interests of future generations.

Al-Burhan also directed that all military, security, and police agencies in the area be unified under the direct authority of the Government of Red Sea State and placed under the command of its wali to ensure unity of command and smooth coordination.

He further pledged an immediate response to citizens’ service and development demands, directing the urgent establishment of an administrative unit, the appointment of an administrative officer, the construction of a fully equipped health centre, and the provision of ambulances to serve the area.

Concluding his address, Al-Burhan called for national unity and solidarity between citizens and the armed forces in confronting external threats, stressing the importance of collective efforts to build and develop the country and defend it against hostile schemes.
