Ankara, Thursday – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, held joint talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the presidential palace on Thursday, focusing on upgrading and developing bilateral relations and advancing prospects for cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
The two leaders reviewed a range of regional and international issues, with particular attention to developments in the Middle East and the Horn of Africa.
The talks also addressed the latest situation in Sudan and ongoing efforts to achieve peace, alongside a review of regional and international initiatives aimed at restoring peace and stability in the country.
During the discussions, Turkey reaffirmed its firm position in support of Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
The two sides further reviewed Turkey’s readiness to provide all possible assistance to help the Sudanese people cope with the current humanitarian conditions, notably through aid delivered by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) in the field of humanitarian relief.
The talks underscored the need to halt crimes committed against the Sudanese people and to hold those responsible to account.
Al-Burhan expressed his thanks and appreciation to Turkey for its supportive stances toward Sudan in regional and international forums, affirming the depth of Sudanese-Turkish relations. He also thanked President Erdoğan for inviting him to visit Turkey, pointing to the enduring ties that bind the peoples of the two countries.
