The Council of Ministers, meeting in Khartoum under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris, approved the 2026 Darfur Regional Governance Bill, presented by Minister of Justice Dr. Abdullah Mohamed Dirif.
The Prime Minister underscored the importance of strengthening national unity and social integration, stressing that Darfur is an integral part of Sudan and that supporting stability in the region remains a national priority. He also commended the role of the Sudanese Armed Forces.
The meeting further reviewed reports on gold exports, anti-corruption efforts, and the role of the Integrity Commission in promoting transparency and accountability.
In addition, the Cabinet examined plans presented by Red Sea State aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence and enhancing the operational capacity of the country's ports.
