Egypt’s Minister of Interior, Mahmoud Tawfiq, received his Sudanese counterpart, Lieutenant General (Police) Babiker Samra, and his accompanying delegation during their visit to Cairo, where the two sides discussed avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation between their respective ministries, as well as recent developments in security issues of mutual concern.
The Sudanese minister stated that the visit falls within the framework of reinforcing bilateral relations and sustaining ongoing consultation between the two countries. He commended the efficiency of Egypt’s security institutions and expressed Sudan’s interest in expanding cooperation in training and the exchange of expertise to enhance the capabilities of police personnel amid current security challenges.
For his part, Egypt’s Minister of Interior welcomed the visit, affirming his country’s keenness to further consolidate cooperation with Sudan, particularly in the areas of training and information-sharing. He underscored the importance of integrating security efforts to address regional challenges and strengthen security and stability.
