Jabir Reaffirms Leadership’s Determination to End Rebellion and Restore Security and Stability Across All Darfur States

Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Assistant to the Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Engineer Ibrahim Jabir, reaffirmed the leadership’s determination to end the rebellion and achieve security and stability in the Darfur region, as well as across Sudan. He emphasized the pursuit of accountability for all who have committed crimes against the Sudanese people, as part of efforts to rebuild the country on solid national foundations, paving the way for comprehensive development and continuous progress.

This came during his meeting Wednesday in Khartoum with the Wali of Central Darfur State, Mustafa Tambour, who briefed him on the overall situation in Central Darfur and the state government’s efforts to support the armed forces and allied units deployed to Darfur to suppress the rebellion and protect citizens from the violence and oppression perpetrated by terrorist militias against civilians and their property.

For his part, Wali Mustafa Tambour told the press that he updated Lt. Gen. Jabir on the security situation in the state and the extent of destruction suffered by government institutions and public service facilities across its localities.

He also provided a briefing on the state government’s efforts to meet the needs of its citizens residing in various Sudanese states while ensuring the payment of workers’ entitlements. He noted that his meeting with the TSC member addressed the threat posed by drug proliferation among citizens, the influx of mercenaries across border areas, and the impact of these factors on the continuation of the conflict.
