Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris received Saturday the Personal Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Sudan, Mr. Ramtane Lamamra, to discuss the political, security, and humanitarian situation in the country following the recent tragic events in El-Fashir carried out by the terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
During the meeting, the UN envoy expressed the United Nations’ appreciation for Sudan, noting that the situation in the country represents one of the world’s most pressing humanitarian crises.
Prime Minister Idris welcomed the envoy, affirming the Sudanese government’s readiness to cooperate and coordinate with the United Nations and its agencies to restore security, achieve peace, and ensure the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need.
Dr. Idris also provided a comprehensive briefing on Sudan’s political and security landscape, underscoring the government’s determination to work with international organizations based on the roadmap prepared by the Sudanese authorities.
