Sudan has reaffirmed its firm commitment to achieving a just and comprehensive peace that safeguards the country’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, and fulfils the aspirations of its people, Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Maawia Osman Khalid told SUNA.
Ambassador Maawia stressed that Sudan has remained open to all serious initiatives to end the conflict, which was ignited by the Al-Dagalo militia with extensive military and political support from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and backing from some neighbouring countries. He stated that the UAE, by continuing its aggressive campaign in Sudan, cannot be a trustworthy partner in any peace efforts and called on it to immediately cease its interventions and support for the militia.
The Sudanese official welcomed the efforts of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to establish just peace in Sudan and praised his proposal discussed with U.S. President Donald Trump, highlighting the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting Sudan and strengthening regional and international peace initiatives.
Sudan affirmed its readiness to engage constructively in this process, aiming for a just and sustainable peace.
