U.S. President’s Adviser for African Affairs, Massad Boulos, stated that the United States continues to urge both parties in the Sudan conflict to accept and immediately implement a comprehensive humanitarian ceasefire without any preconditions.

Boulos explained in a tweet on the X platform that his country looks forward to humanitarian aid convoys reaching El-Fashir regularly, amid what he described as the “horrific siege” imposed on the city.

He also highlighted the efforts made by the United States, in coordination with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and other partners, to facilitate the arrival of the UN assessment mission to El-Fashir.
