Khartoum, (Nabaa Sudan) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salem said that Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue represents a key entry point for the next phase, affirming that the government’s vision for a political solution is based on an inclusive national process leading to peace and stability and addressing the repercussions of the war.
In an interview with the Sudan News Agency (SUNA), Salem explained that Sudan’s vision for a political solution had been presented before the UN Security Council, stressing adherence to a path that he said responds to the aspirations of the Sudanese people, and commending the sacrifices of the Armed Forces and supporting forces during the war.
He called on political and societal forces to support the efforts of the committee tasked with preparing for Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue and to allow it to carry out its duties, pointing to the importance of broadening participation in the dialogue and not limiting it to elites and political forces.
Regarding fighters and political opponents, the Foreign Minister said that those who choose to return to the ranks of the homeland would be welcomed, while also affirming that the door remains open to political opponents, as part of a broader effort to address the repercussions of the war and create conditions for the next phase.
Salem stressed the importance of broadening popular participation in the post-war phase, with particular attention to young people.
