Juba (Nabaa Sudan) – President of South Sudan Salva Kiir Mayardit issued a presidential decree appointing a caretaker government as follows:
Joseph Basika, Adviser for Public Affairs; Africano Mande, Minister; Martin Elia Lomuro, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Cecilia Adiang, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Atyan Atyan Deng, Minister of Finance and Planning; General Muor Ayor, Minister of Defence; Rizik Zakaria Hassan, Minister of Interior; Wek Mamer, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs; Margaret Labana, Minister of Trade and Industry; Ateng Wick Ateng, Minister of Information and Communications; Michael Makuei, Minister for East African Affairs; Ambassador Stephen Par Kuol, Minister of Peace; and Ambassador Philip Jada, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

General Marial Changuong Yol was appointed Deputy Minister of Defence, while General Marial Gum Ke was appointed Deputy Minister of Interior.

The decree stipulated that the appointed officials would not be eligible to run in the upcoming elections.
