The Attorney General and Head of the National Committee to Investigate Crimes and Violations of National and International Humanitarian Law, Intisar Ahmed Abdel Aal, met on Tuesday with the UK Special Representative and Head of the British Office for Sudanese Affairs, Richard Crowder, at her office. First Assistant Attorney General Kamal Mahjoub Ahmed also attended the meeting.
During the discussion, the Attorney General highlighted the Public Prosecutor’s role in addressing serious and repeated violations against civilians, the mechanisms in place to safeguard human rights, and the critical responsibilities of prosecutors in conducting investigations.
Mr. Crowder expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and the detailed briefing on Sudan’s human rights situation.
