Mershing, South Darfur (Nabaa Sudan) – The General Coordination of Displaced Persons (IDPs) and Refugees Camps said that thousands of residents in Mershing Locality, South Darfur State, are fleeing daily to the Tawila area in North Darfur in search of food, water and healthcare services, amid the failure of the agricultural season and the repercussions of the war.
The Coordination explained that farmers had been unable to harvest their sorghum and millet crops this season, leaving many families with depleted food stocks.
It called for urgent humanitarian intervention inside the locality to help curb the waves of displacement.
