Khartoum (Nabaa Sudsan) – The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS) have discussed establishing a financing portfolio to rehabilitate and maintain university professors’ housing and install solar energy systems, to be led by the Real Estate Bank.
Minister of Higher Education Ahmed Modawi Musa and Central Bank of Sudan Governor Amna Mirghani Hassan Al-Tom agreed to complete the technical and financing arrangements and determine funding sources and the portfolio’s operating mechanisms. The initiative aims to improve professors’ living conditions and enhance the stability of academic personnel.
The initiative is part of the Central Bank’s 2026 policy direction to support economic recovery, reconstruction, and the expansion of clean energy use.
