Sudan and Eritrea Pledge to Strengthen Strategic Partnership and Regional Stability

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, received Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki today at Gasr Al-Sharg in Port Sudan, where the Eritrean leader was welcomed with an official reception.

During their talks, the two leaders discussed enhancing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across security, economic, and trade sectors. They also reviewed Sudan’s current situation and regional issues, emphasizing joint efforts to achieve peace and stability.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening historical ties and advancing a strategic partnership that serves the interests of both nations. TSC President Al-Burhan praised Eritrea’s support for Sudan’s unity, stability, and sovereignty, including its hosting of Sudanese displaced persons, and expressed Sudan’s determination to further joint cooperation.

President Afwerki reiterated Eritrea’s support for Sudan’s unity and sovereignty, condemned external interference, and stressed that Sudan’s stability is vital for regional stability. He confirmed Eritrea’s commitment to strengthening brotherly ties and cooperation with Sudan.
