‎“Drone Graveyard”: Sudanese Air Defences Shoot Down Eight FH-95 ‎Drones in Two Months

KHARTOUM (Nabaa Sudan) – The Sudanese Army has announced the ‎downing of an enemy FH-95 drone east of the Kalamendo area in ‎North Darfur State, as part of operations to counter drones operated ‎by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.‎

Over the past two months, the army has shot down eight FH-95 ‎drones, in addition to two other aircraft, in a series of operations ‎aimed at reducing the capabilities of hostile drones.‎

The FH-95 is used for reconnaissance, electronic warfare and jamming, ‎and can also be deployed for armed missions. Its interception can ‎therefore affect surveillance and intelligence-gathering capabilities ‎ahead of attacks.‎

Some variants of the FH-95 can remain airborne for more than 24 ‎hours with a payload of up to 250 kilograms. CH-95 drones, ‎meanwhile, have an estimated flight endurance of between six and 12 ‎hours and a payload of approximately 170 to 200 kilograms.‎

These developments come amid continuing clashes between the ‎Sudanese Armed Forces and the RSF militia, with drones serving as ‎one of the means used for reconnaissance, monitoring movements ‎and targeting military positions.‎
