KHARTOUM (Nabaa Sudan) – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan met with Arab League Secretary-General Dr. Nabil Fahmy at the Republican Palace in Khartoum, in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salem and Sudan’s Chargé d’Affaires to Egypt, Ambassador Omar Al-Farouq.
In a press statement, Fahmy underscored Sudan’s importance in the Arab world and its role in supporting Arab causes. He reaffirmed the Arab League’s commitment to supporting Sudan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national institutions.
He explained that his visit reflected the Arab world’s concern for the situation in Sudan and its support for efforts to achieve peace and stability and advance reconstruction. He also highlighted the League’s commitment to implementing relevant Arab resolutions.
Fahmy added that he would continue his meetings with Sudanese officials and the Sudanese-Sudanese Dialogue Preparatory Committee, expressing his readiness to hear their views on establishing peace and restoring stability in Sudan.
