Former Member of Parliament and President of the General Union of the Nuba, Mohamed Abu Anja Abu Ras, received a warm reception upon his arrival at Khartoum International Airport.

A large number of community leaders, supporters, relatives, and well-wishers gathered at the airport to welcome Abu Ras, expressing their appreciation for his longstanding contributions to public service and his role in advancing issues of concern to the Nuba community.

Speaking on the occasion, participants praised his efforts in promoting social cohesion, national unity, and community development, describing his return as a positive step that could contribute to strengthening dialogue and cooperation during a critical period for Sudan.

Abu Ras, who previously served as a member of Sudan’s parliament, thanked those who came to receive him and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at peacebuilding, stability, and national reconstruction. He stressed the importance of collective efforts to overcome the challenges facing the country and to build a future based on unity, development, and equal opportunities for all Sudanese.
