Khartoum, (Nabaa Sudan) – Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris reviewed the performance of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Welfare from January through September 2026 during a meeting with Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare Motasem Ahmed Saleh.
The Prime Minister received a briefing on the Civil Service Digital Platform and its role in accelerating the processing of transactions and reducing reliance on paper-based procedures, in addition to the interventions carried out by social protection units.
The minister explained that the Zakat Chamber provided assistance to 2.88 million citizens at a cost of SDG 240 billion, while more than 2.5 million citizens benefited from health insurance support, bringing insurance coverage to 86.2 percent of the population.
The minister also briefed the Prime Minister on direct cash assistance, which benefited 326,000 families at a cost of SDG 48 billion, as well as the results of the ministry’s international engagements, which led to preparations for holding the First Arab Forum for Human Resources Development in Khartoum in mid-October, with the participation of officials from Egypt and Libya and organizations affiliated with the League of Arab States.
