Undersecretary Dr. Geraham Abdel-Gadir said safeguarding antiquities is central to national security and identity.
Speaking at a workshop on combating illicit trafficking, he highlighted coordinated efforts involving security, judicial, and cultural institutions to protect and recover heritage assets.
He also pointed to the economic role of culture and tourism, and announced plans to reopen key museums in Khartoum later this year.
