NEW YORK, (Nabaa Sudan) — Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salem participated in the annual ministerial meeting of the Least Developed Countries (LDCs).
The group’s foreign ministers unanimously elected Sudan as Vice-Chair of the group’s International Coordination Bureau for the 2026–2029 term.
In his address, the minister praised the efforts of the previous bureau and affirmed Sudan’s commitment to strengthening the group’s voice and presence internationally in support of its development interests and economic recovery.
He called on development partners to fulfill their commitments to LDCs by increasing official development assistance, facilitating access to concessional financing, and ensuring a smooth and sustainable transition for countries graduating from the LDC category.
Salem reaffirmed Sudan’s commitment to advancing the group’s priorities and promoting the interests of its member states in pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals and the principle of leaving no one behind.
