The joint meeting of the Cabinet’s specialized technical committees on Wednesday approved, in its initial stage, the draft emergency state budget for the 2026 fiscal year, presented by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Abdullah Ibrahim. The draft drew wide commendation for the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Finance and its affiliated units.
The committees convened at the Cabinet headquarters in Port Sudan under the chairmanship of Ali Mohammed Ali, Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers. They put forward a number of observations and recommended endorsing the draft budget after these remarks are incorporated, paving the way for its submission to the Council of Ministers for final approval.
