The Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS) has issued a decision banning the financing of foreign currency trading, as well as the purchase of shares and securities, under its 2026 Financing Policy Guidelines.
At the same time, the circular distributed by the bank to commercial banks approved financing for reconstruction projects and authorized funding for maintenance and real estate construction activities. It also allowed banks to finance the purchase of various means of transport, including buses, minibuses, rickshaws, and three-wheeled motorcycles.
