Energy and Foreign Ministers Meet to Discuss Strengthening Oil and Electricity Cooperation

Minister of Energy, Engineer Al-Mua’tassim Ibrahim Ahmed, met with Foreign Minister Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salem to discuss bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the oil and electricity sectors.
Minister of Energy Al-Mua’tassim highlighted efforts to expand joint cooperation with several countries in energy and petroleum projects. He noted that the Ministry has received interest from Turkish oil companies to invest in underdeveloped oil blocks, emphasizing that enhanced collaboration would allow Sudan to better utilize its natural resources. He also reaffirmed Sudan’s ongoing partnerships with China, India, Malaysia, and South Sudan.
Foreign Minister Salem expressed his readiness to advance these cooperation initiatives, noting that coordinated efforts between ministries are crucial to achieving key economic objectives, particularly as the oil and electricity sectors maintain strategic partnerships with major international partners.
