Minerals Minister Nour Al-Da’im Taha affirmed that sound management of the mining sector will make it one of the main drivers of the national economy. He stressed the need to take serious steps to regulate mining, protect mineral resources, and enhance coordination among relevant authorities to maximize the benefits of the country’s resources.

Speaking during the First Hope Forum on Mining Issues, the minister said the Ministry has continued implementing development programmes and geological surveys despite the circumstances of the war. He called for intensified efforts to combat mineral smuggling, regulate traditional mining, and protect the environment, while affirming the Ministry’s commitment to following up on the implementation of the forum’s recommendations in coordination with national and state-level authorities.
