Sudan’s Ambassador to Baghdad, Ambassador Abdelrahim Sir Al-Khatim, discussed with Iraqi Minister of Agriculture Dr. Abdulrahim Jasim Al-Shammari ways to strengthen agricultural and livestock cooperation between the two countries, particularly the export of Sudanese meat to the Iraqi market.
During the meeting, the ambassador highlighted Sudan’s vast agricultural and livestock potential, affirming the country’s capacity to export live and processed meat to regional and international markets. He also handed the Iraqi minister a letter from Sudan’s Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries, Professor Ahmed El-Tigani Abdelrahim El-Mansouri, inviting him to visit Sudan to learn about the country’s experience in livestock production and visit the Livestock Production City.
For his part, the Iraqi Minister of Agriculture affirmed his country’s readiness to expand cooperation and open up further to Sudan, particularly in the field of meat imports. He revealed arrangements for an Iraqi technical delegation to visit Sudan to explore areas of joint cooperation in agriculture and livestock production.
