Sudan is moving to benefit from advanced Chinese technology to modernize geological surveying and mineral exploration, in an effort to improve the efficiency of the sector and enhance its ability to identify and assess mineral resources.
Minister of Minerals Nour Al-Daim Taha stressed, during an official visit to the Tianjin International Exhibition, the importance of acquiring the latest Chinese technologies used in surveying and exploration. The Sudanese delegation inspected equipment including drones, intelligent robots, advanced data-processing systems, as well as modern mineral sampling technologies.
The minister directed the General Authority for Geological Research to begin contacts with its Chinese counterpart to obtain these technologies and deploy them in comprehensive surveying operations, as well as in preparing more accurate geological and mineral maps.
He said the introduction of modern technology would reduce time and costs, improve the efficiency of surveying and mineral assessment, and strengthen the institutional capacity of the authority, supporting Sudan’s efforts to identify its mineral resources and make better use of them.
