Sudan, South Sudan Agree to Revive Mining Cooperation Agreements

Sudan and South Sudan have agreed to reactivate memorandums of understanding signed between the two countries in the mining sector and establish a joint technical working team to follow up on cooperation files and facilitate the exchange of expertise.

The agreement was reached during a meeting between Sudanese Minister of Minerals Nour Al-Daim Taha and South Sudan’s Minister of Minerals, Dr. Lusona. The two sides discussed ways to develop the mining sector and benefit from Sudanese expertise in regulating and organizing the industry.

Taha also invited his South Sudanese counterpart to visit Sudan to learn more about the country’s mining experience.
