Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare Motasem Ahmed Saleh stressed that Sudan’s reconstruction begins with its people by restoring their capacity to work and produce, developing their skills, and providing employment opportunities and means of livelihood.

In Sudan’s statement before the 52nd session of the Arab Labour Conference in Cairo, the minister explained that Sudan’s vision for the post-war phase is centered on investing in human resources, expanding employment opportunities, and strengthening social protection in ways that support stability and sustainable development.

The conference approved Sudan’s request for support in developing the labour inspection, occupational safety, and health systems during the recovery and reconstruction phase. It also adopted Sudan’s proposal to include the rebuilding of labour markets and the promotion of employment and social protection in Arab countries affected by conflicts and crises on the agenda of the conference’s 53rd session in 2027.
