Federal Minister of Health Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim discussed with Saudi Deputy Minister of Health Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Rumaih ways to strengthen health cooperation between Sudan and Saudi Arabia on the sidelines of the 79th session of the World Health Assembly in Geneva.
Federal Minister of Health Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim commended the continued Saudi support for Sudan’s health sector, particularly through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief), which has provided medical assistance and support to hospitals during the recent period, in addition to backing treatment programmes for kidney failure patients and supplying medical equipment and ambulances.
The two sides underscored the importance of advancing training programmes for Sudanese medical personnel and expanding opportunities for specialized medical training within the Kingdom, alongside strengthening cooperation in secondment programmes and the exchange of expertise, in a manner that supports Sudan’s healthcare system.
