Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Assistant to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and Head of the High Committee for Preparing the Environment for the Return to Khartoum State, Lt. Gen. Engineer Ibrahim Jabir, called on national and international partners to support Sudan’s health and education sectors, which suffered extensive destruction during the militia-led war.
He made the remarks while inaugurating Khartoum Bahri Teaching Hospital, in the presence of Federal Health Minister Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, Khartoum State Wali Ahmed Osman Hamza, and representatives from the Sudanese American Physicians Association (SAPA) and Islamic Relief USA.
Lt. Gen. Jabir praised the health sector’s efforts in restoring services and highlighted the hospital’s reopening as a significant benefit for Bahri residents and all Sudanese. He noted that current investments in health facilities mark the first step, with further provision of advanced equipment and resources planned. He also emphasized the government’s commitment to training and equipping medical staff to ensure safe operations and quality care.
Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim described Khartoum Bahri Hospital as a cornerstone of the health sector and commended SAPA for its generous support in rehabilitating health facilities and providing vital services to communities in Al-Fashir and South Kordofan.
